Gettysburg KOA Review

Gettysburg KOA is a a great choice only a few miles outside of Gettysburg. It’s a smaller campground with nice wooded sites.

We booked a pull thru site near the center of the campground, but the campground is small enough that every site is only a short walk to amenities.

Our campsite

Near the front of the campground is a dog park, our dog Apollo enjoyed wearing the kids out! There is also a walking path just outside the campground to walk your dogs.

The weekend we went was civil war reenactment weekend. The soldiers answered questions and talked about a typical day and some of the activities included civil war trivia.

My kids enjoyed the gaming area with chess and cornhole. There is also a pool but we were in offseason still.

My kids favorite activity at almost every campground is mini golf! This course was built into the woods and had lots of shade.

A playground with swings and a pirate ship theme was also a big hit with the kids.

Pedal carts were available to rent. These were a little hard for the kids to pedal up the hill but they enjoyed going in circles. There was a deal with mini golf, pedal carts and gem mining for $12 per kid.

All in all it’s a great place to spend the weekend. It was easy for my kids to make friends in the campground because of the small size. A scavenger hunt with prizes won for finding things around the campground brought all the campground kids together. Make sure you plan a visit to the battlefield while you are in the area.
