Lums Pond is a State Park and Campground located in Bear, DE. Unlike many state park campgrounds, this one offers full hook up sites. Its a very well maintained campground with spaced out sites around one big loop.

The campground is not walkable to the main part of Lums Pond State Park, but there are some nice trails that run through the campground. The main hiking trail in the campground ends at the boat launch.

There are no sites on Lums Pond itself, but from the back of the campground there is a nice overlook of the Pond.

One of our favorite things to do in Lums Pond is rent paddleboats. You can rent these in the main part of the State Park. Kayaks are also available for rental. The Pond is huge, and you probably won’t even be able to cover the entire area but its fun to get out on the water! There are also an abundance of playgrounds, pavilions, and trails within the State Park. I would avoid the Nature Trail, we have never been on such a buggy trail! Despite our bug spray we had to visit the pharmacy to get Benadryl for our daughter who was covered in swollen bites.

Another great feature of Lums Pond is Go Ape. There is a course for the younger kids with ziplines and different features up in the treetops. Despite the rain this was a huge hit with our kids! For the other kids and adults, there is a full zip line course that will have you zipling across the lake! Highly recommend any of the Go Ape Courses.

For a great state park experience, we can’t rate Lums Pond State Park and campground highly enough. The campsites are on the cheaper site being that it is a State Park, and the campground is very well maintained and clean. The paved roads make it easy for the kids to ride bikes or scooter. Definitely a great weekend getaway!
